Traveling to Boracay in the New Normal: A Guide (As of March 15, 2022)

Time to start preparing for your much-awaited vacation to the fabulous island of Boracay! For a safe and hassle-free trip, follow these simple guidelines:

1. Make a hotel reservation.

Astoria Boracay is accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT). You can book your room through this website. Just add your check-in details in the header above and click ``Book now.`` You can also send our Sales Team a message via reservation@astoriaboracay.com, sales@astoriaboracay.com, (+63) 908-872-7922, or (+63) 917-868-4469.

2. Book your plane tickets or prepare your travel details.

For local travelers who will be booking a flight, your point of entry should be Caticlan Airport or Godofredo P. Ramos Airport only. For guests coming from Western Visayas and Aklan, if you are using a private vehicle, please prepare a photo of your car’s plate. If you are taking public transportation, accomplish the Certificate of Undertaking for Travel Details template via aklan.gov.ph under Tourism.

3. Get tested.

Unvaccinated individuals will be required to submit an RT-PCR negative result certificate based on a saliva, nasopharyngeal, or oropharyngeal test taken within 72 hours from the date of extraction to the date of travel. It must only be administered by laboratories accredited by the Department of Health (DOH). Have your initial hotel booking confirmation ready should you need to present it.

On the contrary, minors below 12 years of age will no longer need to submit an RT-PCR negative result certificate. Their guardians will only need to accomplish the Certificate of Undertaking Travelling with Minors template via aklan.gov.ph under Tourism.

For vaccinated and Aklanon tourists residing in Aklan, a VaxCertPH COVID-19 vaccination certificate with full vaccination status, locally-issued vaccination card/ID, World Health Organization certificate of vaccination and prophylaxis, or vaccination card/ID issued abroad will be accepted.

4. Submit all the requirements.

Go to www.touristboracay.com and choose Boracay as your destination. Accomplish your personal information and attach all the requirements, including proof of identification with Philippine residency or a copy of your passport for foreigners, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), or returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs). A confirmation page will display your reference code, your QR code, and download link. Make sure to screenshot or print a copy. You may also opt to download your online health declaration card (OHDC) QR code to your device. Remember to save a copy of it, as well. It will be asked for in the ports of entry/exit and will also be needed when accessing services in the island.

Should you encounter any issues, you may contact Travel Info Aklan Assistance Center via (+63) 939-878-0715, (+63) 975-580-9013, and (+63) 995-850-0585.

Although the QR codes will be autogenerated, submitted documents will still undergo the usual validation process. Should the LGU of Aklan find issues with your attachments, you will be notified through email, SMS, and phone call, and will be given a period within which you will need to comply with their instructions. Otherwise, your OHDC QR Code will be invalidated the day before your travel.

Also, please take note that your QR code has an expiry of twelve hours from your check-out time from the hotel. If you plan to extend your stay in Boracay, send an email with a new booking slip showing your extension to touristboracay@gmail.com before your initial check-out time.
